Ariana Grande announces 'Petal' album and NY tour dates
Like flowers in the spring, Ariana Grande is ready to bloom! The pop sensation announced her eighth studio album, titled "Petal," on Instagram along with its release date and album cover art.
"Petal" is said to be executive-produced and co-written by Grande and her longtime collaborator Ilya, who has worked with Grande on a lot of her projects, including her latest album "Eternal Sunshine."
Variety reported that in a press release about the album, Grande says "Petal" is about “Something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging.”
Here is what to know about "Petal," how to pre-order it in New York and when Grande's "Eternal Sunshine Tour" stops in the Empire State.
Ariana Grande's 8th studio album: "Petal"
The announcement of Grande's new album was not so much of a shock to many of her fans. Many fans have speculated about the announcement since the singer has posted pictures of herself in the studio.
On Tuesday, April 28, Grande posted a picture of the album's cover with the caption, "Petal 7.31." The cover depicts a black and white close-up photo of the pop star smiling, with her long curly hair flowing around her face.
Grande's longtime hairstylist, Alyx Liu, posted a video montage of black and white images related to the album. The photos, which have a dark and mysterious vibe, depict flowers, shadowy images of the singer and her high heels.
The album, according to Apple Music, will feature 12 music tracks. The video montage Liu posted on Instagram is listed as the 13th track on the music streaming platform with the title "petal in the pavement."
