Caitlin Clark used X-rated language to accuse a rival of flopping as the Indiana Fever lost their season-opener.

On Saturday, Clark scored 20 points and added seven assists as her Fever fell 107-104 to the Dallas Wings. In a clash that featured the last four No. 1 overall picks, including 2026 pick Azzi Fudd, a revamped Dallas roster snatched victory despite Kelsey Mitchell putting up a game-high 30 points.

Clark finished with 20 points on 7-of-18 shooting with her assists and five rebounds, but she also suffered five turnovers. One moment led to a lash out in frustration from the two-time WNBA All-Star, as she was called for an offensive foul.

As she attacked the paint, Clark lowered her shoulder and powered it into Wings' sophomore guard Aziaha James. James took the contact and fell backward, with officials calling the foul on Clark.

Naturally, the 24-year-old took issue with the offensive foul call. She turned and tossed the ball to James, telling her: “Flopping all f---in’ day.”

Clark found her groove in the third quarter, scoring or assisting on 12 of the Fever’s first 16 points in the period. Her run saw her connect on a pair of 3-pointers, which cut Indiana’s deficit to three at the time, then drop in a reverse layup.

The Fever guard is coming off an injury-hit sophomore campaign in which she played just 13 WNBA games. She suffered a scare in the third quarter; Clark briefly headed to the tunnel to get looked at by trainers, but she returned in style.

With the score tied 80-80 entering the fourth quarter, Clark leaned on a spin move before scoring on a late-quarter layup that made her enter an exclusive group.

As a result, Clark became the eighth player in WNBA history to score 1,000 career points within 54 games.

However, she ran out of steam late. After Paige Bueckers scored, Clark attempted a 31-foot 3-point attempt that missed, and after Bueckers twice missed at the free-throw line, the Fever had one more chance.

With 1.6 seconds left, Sophie Cunningham inbounded the ball to Mitchell, whose 3-point attempt was off the mark at the buzzer.

Ultimately, the retooled Wings held on for a 107-104 victory in the season opener, the first WNBA game in history in which both teams scored more than 100 points.

The 0-1 Fever are next in action against the Los Angeles Sparks at Crypto.com Arena on Wednesday, May 13.
