Carrie Underwood insists there is "no beef" between her and American Idol guest judge Nikki Glaser after fans noticed an icy tension between the two during the show's first Taylor Swift-themed night.
Fans believed the country singer wasn't happy about sitting next to the ultra-Swiftie Glaser during the show on April 27, with viewers remarking on social media, "The tension between Carrie and Nikki is KILLING me lmaoo."
Another added, "Very obvious. Esp from Carrie. We have the extremes of 2 women. Carrie, no matter how talented, ever since I saw her on American idol, I pick up a really cold vibe." Underwood has since said she thought Glaser "was wonderful" on the panel.

Speaking to Cody Alan, of Sirius XM's Highway Mornings show on Tuesday, May 5, Underwood stressed there is "no beef" between the pair.
Alan said, "I'm like, 'Do you know Carrie Underwood?' Like, she's never going to be a mean person. They want to cause a catfight over the smallest little thing."

Carrie responded that she is "very used to that", adding, "I think she did such a great job because it's not an easy thing to come sit behind that desk and try to think of constructive things to say. And I don't know, I feel like she did everything wonderfully. But no, there's no beef. I have no beef."

The country singer joined American Idol as a judge in 2025 after winning the show in 2005. She has previously admitted how it took her a while to get used to online meanness after joining the show's judging panel.
"It's evolved over time," she said of internet trolling. "My time on American Idol, you know, we kind of had like message boards and things like that, and it was kind of the beginning of just meanness online, I guess."
Following the show, fans claimed Underwood had undergone a 'MAGA makeover' in comments on her Instagram post encouraging people to vote. Sharing her look with big false eyelashes, bronze cheeks and a pink, glossy lip, fans said she looked "unrecognizable" and had been "MAGAfied.
One user commented, "Republican make up," as a second added, "OMG! She truly has Mar-a-Lago face, yuck." Elsewhere, a third asked, "OMG, what happened...has she been socializing with the Mara-logo ladies?"
The term MAGA makeover is a recent phenomenon used to describe the drastic glam makeover undergone by women associated with the Trump administration, usually involving plastic surgery, heavy makeup and bold outfits.
Carrie has previously responded to backlash from American Idol fans, saying simply, "Boo me. I don't care. @americanidol."
