Sulewski revealed how she plans to change her last name after her wedding during her appearance on the Hot Smart Rich with Maggie Sellers Reum podcast

Claudia Sulewski is ready to marry Finneas O’Connell. But will she take his last name?

During her appearance on the July 8 episode of the Hot Smart Rich with Maggie Sellers Reum podcast, the 30-year-old content creator and founder of body care brand Cyklar opened up about amassing wealth through social media and her Sephora beauty empire. During the conversation, Sulewski also discussed building a life with O’Connell, 28, and whether or not she plans on changing her last name after they wed.

“Oh, my gosh. This has been a topic of discussion for all my friends and I,” she said. “I think what I’m going to do is... my public name will probably stay Claudia Sulewski. It has a good flow to it, I’ve built a personal brand, but I think legally, I’ll change it to Claudia Sulewski O’Connell. I don’t have a middle name, so we’re just gonna shift the last name into the middle name spot basically.”

“Claudia Sulewski O’Connell, it has a ring to it,” the bride-to-be added with a smile.

Sulewski met O’Connell on a dating app when she was 22 and he was 21. She joked, “I am a cougar.”

“We fell for each other so hard and so fast and so honestly,” Sulewski said. “There were no games. We were so straightforward with each other. I think when you know, you just kind of know.”

Seven years later, the couple got engaged on Sept. 22, 2025. They announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post two days later, sharing photos from their romantic proposal. Sulewski wrote in the caption, “forever and ever 9.22.”

Sulewski said on the podcast that her musician fiancé — who recently scored all eight episodes of the second season of the Netflix anthology series Beef and often collaborates with sister Billie Eilish — is a “huge supporter” of her career, and vice versa.

“He’s seen every part of [my career]. Like, he’s been in bed with me as I’m like, ‘What am I doing? What am I doing? This was the craziest risk I ever took,’ to then getting to celebrate these insane moments,” Sulewski shared. “My version of getting to celebrate is getting to call him or running home and telling him.”

In January, Sulewski shared an update on the couple’s wedding planning progress. She revealed that they were still in the early stages of planning, but that the “For Cryin’ Out Loud!” singer is helping out more than she expected him to.

“Finneas has had more input than I think he thought he would have, which is exciting for me because I don’t want to feel like I’m planning all this by myself,” Sulewski said in a YouTube video. “I’ve been really surprised by how many opinions my fiancé has had, and I love it because I want him to feel ownership of this special day for us.”
