Costco abruptly shut down one of its online services for members this week.
On Tuesday, Sept. 1, Costco members visiting the Costco Next online marketplace were met with a message that said access to the Costco Next storefront was no longer available and a list of return policies for companies whose products it sold.
Here's what we know about the abrupt ending of Costco Next, what it was and how many physical Costco locations there are in Florida.

What is Costco Next?
Costco Next was a third-party online marketplace that allowed Costco members to order discounted products directly from the companies that sell them, including: Anker Electronics, Priority Bicycles, Viking Culinary, High Tech Pet, Kettler and more.
“There was a real learning curve as we developed the program, and there were a lot of refinements, from site improvements and product selection, to ensuring that every supplier understood the concept," Nino Garcia, assistant general merchandise manager for Costco Next, said in an article on the Costco site.
"In the end, Costco’s goal will always be the same: offering our members quality goods at a great value.”

What happened to Costco Next?
Not much is known about the abrupt closure of the Costco Next website.
On Wednesday, Sept. 2, Costco members reported that the website was no longer in service on platforms like Reddit.
The message at the top of the website reads: "Access to Costco Next store fronts is no longer available. Please refer to the list below for contact information for vendors with active return policies. For eligible returns and warranty inquiries, contact the vendor directly."
Below the message is a directory of brands that Costco Next carried and their return policies.
How many Costco locations are in Florida?
According to ScrapeHero, there are 36 Costco warehouse locations in Florida. To find the Florida Costco location closest to you, visit the store's website.
