- Disney World has announced the final day to ride Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios.

- The launched roller coaster starring Aerosmith will close in March 2026.

- EW previously reported that the band was already removed from the ride's preshow.

Disney World has announced the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster closing date, ahead of the iconic Aerosmith-themed indoor roller coaster's transformation into a new Muppets ride.

After ** reported earlier this month that the Steven Tyler-fronted band's Ken Marino- and Illeana Douglas-starring preshow video had already been removed from the coaster's pre-ride presentation, Disney confirmed on its official website the final day guests can ride the 27-year-old roller coaster.

"The last day of operation for Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will be March 1, 2026," reads a line of text on Disney World's site, confirming the closing date for the attraction that first opened at the Hollywood Studios park in 1999.

As previously noted, EW learned in early December that the preshow video, which introduced the ride's story and saw guests observing an Aerosmith recording session before zipping across busy highways to make it to one of the band's shows, has already been nixed from the attraction so that construction work can begin on the ride's Muppets evolution in phases — and to minimize overall downtime for visitors during the planned remodel.

Replacing Aerosmith in the preshow video will be Kermit, Scooter, the adorable penguin animatronics from the former MuppetVision 3D show (which closed earlier this year at Hollywood Studios), and the Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem band, who will also take a starring role in the attraction when it reopens later in 2026.

The revamped attraction's storyline involves the Electric Mayhem band as they prepare to perform their biggest Hollywood concert to date, while guests embark on a high-speed pursuit searching for the group after they go missing.

Ahead of the MuppetVision 3D closure in June, Disney announced that the former Muppets Courtyard area of Hollywood Studios would also be refurbished to become a new *Monsters, Inc.*-themed area featuring the company's first-ever indoor suspended roller coaster themed to the animated film series' iconic door transportation system. Construction on that project is currently underway.

Disney announced that the Muppets would move in to the existing Rock 'n' Roller Coaster space in November 2024. The addition came amid news that the company was considering ways to preserve the theater-style MuppetVision 3D show for future audiences, as it marked one of the final projects Jim Henson worked on before his death in 1990.

Disney said at the time that it was "having creative conversations and exploring ways to preserve the film and other parts of the experience for fans to enjoy in the future."

The Orlando resort's Magic Kingdom park will also receive the highly anticipated Villains Land, which will bring multiple Disney villains together in one area amid a narrative involving a mysterious spell that conjures them to the dark region, following the opening of a new *Cars-*inspired* *area that's currently under construction along the former Rivers of America site.

The final day to ride Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Disney World is March 1, 2026. The Muppets-themed takeover is set to open later next year. See concept art for the new attraction above.**
