- Dave Coulier told social media followers Monday that he's aware some of them think he looks and sounds different recently.

- The *Full House* actor said the radiation he went through for carcinoma in his throat has kept him from eating solid foods and resulted in weight loss.

- His prognosis looks good, according to recent PET scans.

Dave Coulier knows what you're thinking.

The *Full House* alum, who's been struggling with cancer, explained the reason he's dropped weight in a Thursday post to Instagram.

"I haven't posted in quite a while. The last time that I did, some of you said that I looked differently and I sound differently, and I do," Coulier said. "What you're seeing is the side effects of the extensive radiation that I went through for carcinoma in my throat, and so I haven't been able to eat solid food in months. So I've lost 45 pounds. That's what you're seeing. And it's affected my ability to speak."

He continued, "Some of you said that I sound differently, so, yeah, you're right on with what you're seeing and what you're hearing. But just a recap: a year-and-a-half ago, I had non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and I went through chemotherapy. My hair is kind of growing back."

Even better, Coulier said, "We got our PET scans back, and the prognosis looks good for both the carcinoma in my throat and the lymphoma."

Coulier, who's now 65, said that he's "very pleased" with the medical progress, and he's stayed busy in other area of his life.

"I've been creating artwork, and I've been doing some creative writing. And I've been working on AwearMarket.com, our non-toxic store, and so be on the lookout in the next couple of weeks, we'll be having some really nice, creative content. We're looking out for your health and so I wish good health to all of you."

The cast of 'Full House'

Coulier portrayed Uncle Joey (Joey Gladstone) on the ABC sitcom that aired for eight seasons, from 1987 to 1995.

The TGIF staple was about the late Bob Saget's character, Danny Tanner, raising his three daughters D.J. (Candace Cameron), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), and Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen), with the help of his best friend Joey and his brother-in-law Jesse, played by John Stamos.

The cast has remained close over the years, even reuniting for revival *Fuller House* from 2016 to 2020. While the show focused on the younger generation of the cast, Coulier and the others made appearances.

Other *Full House* actors were supportive of Coulier when he revealed his non-Hodgkin's lymphoma diagnosis in late 2024. In October 2025, he explained that he also had carcinoma in his throat.

After his latest update, Kelly Rizzo, the widow of Saget, commented, "You are so very loved, Dave. And truly, no one is stronger than you. God bless you, wonderful friend. Wish Bob was here to make you laugh."

Saget died in 2022.

Actress Debra Sunland, who played Danny's love interest Cindy in 1990, left a message too: "What a gift of a human you are @dcoulier! Always generous, bringing your warmth and humor to bless this world! He's got you. Sending love & prayers your way to you and @melissacoulier."

Coulier married Melissa Bring in 2014.
