Hardt wins 3 events in boys swim regional; Douglas takes team title

Reno High swimmer Jaxon Hardt competes in the 200 IM in the 5A Regional swim meet on May 9 at Moana Springs Aquatic Facility.

The Douglas boys swim team won the team title at the 5A-North Regional swimming and diving meet, held May 7-9 at the Moana Springs Aquatic Facility in Reno.

The Tigers earned 339 points to take the team title, followed by McQueen (299), Spanish Springs (264) and Reno (246).

In the 3A-North Regional, Truckee won the boys team title with 341 points, followed by Fallon (221); North Tahoe (208) and Incline (168).

The top four placers per event from the Northern League championship meet and the top four placers per event from the Southern Region championship meet advance to the Class 5A and Class 3A state championships, set for Friday-Saturday in Las Vegas.

Reno High sophomore Colin Wickwire was part of the winning 400-fee relay team in the 5A Regional swim meet on May 9 at Moana Springs Aquatic Facility.

The 2026 Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association classes 5A and 3A boys and girls state swimming and diving championships are scheduled for Friday, May 15 at UNLV’s Buchanan Natatorium (diving) and Saturday, May 16 at Pavilion Center Pool in Las Vegas (swimming).

Douglas freshman Preston Hinkle won the diving competition in the 5A Regional at Moana Springs Aquatic Facility.

Here are some of the top boys swimming and diving performers from the Regional meet.

Jaxon Hardt (Reno, junior): first place in the 200 IM (1:54.17), 100 breast (57.73), and 400 free relay. Helped the Reno boys with a third-place finish in the 200 free relay.

Chase Lum (Galena, junior): first place in the 100 free (47.27) and second place in the 200 free (1:42.34)

Beckett Lusk (McQueen, freshman): first place in the 100 back (54.18), second place in the 200 free relay, 400 free relay

Carter Renwick (Reed, junior): first place in the 50 free (21.57), 200 medley relay, and 200 free relay. third place in the 100 free (49.27)

Preston Hinkle (Douglas, freshman): first place in diving with 346.50 points.

In the 3A Regional, Sage Ridge freshman Ashton Brenner won the 100 breast and 200 IM

Truckee sophomore Caleb Edwards win the 50 free
