Saturday Night Live returned on October 31 for a special Halloween episode after a two-week break.
The NBC live sketch comedy series welcomed first-time host Obsession star Inde Navarette, 25, and musical guest singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams, 27, for the fourth episode of Season 52. In a teaser for the episode, cast member Jane Wickline asks Navarette who her "favorite ghost is," to which Abrams answers for her: "Abraham Lincoln."
As Navarette took the stage for her monologue, she wasted no time picking up on the drama that unfolded after the last live episode on October 19, when then-host Shane Gillis faced intense backlash over a joke in his opening monologue.

As she opened the show, Navarette hit out at Gillis while talking about her being cast in Marvel's upcoming X-Men film as Rogue.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm going to be in a Marvel movie," she said. "And I know that it's really important for Marvel that you get really fit, so I've been working out a lot," she said, before delivering the punchline: "So every morning, I put on my little w---- outfit, and I hit the gym."
The remark is a direct reference to one Gillis made during his recent hosting gig, which led to swift backlash after he joked about women's gym attire during his opening monologue.
His joke sparked widespread backlash from fans, former SNL cast members, and other celebrities alike. He also faced criticism for cursing during the live broadcast, using the F-word during a sketch parodying Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham.
Saturday Night Live airs weekly at 11:30 PM EST on NBC and Peacock.
