Nathan Fielder finally revealed his mysterious Elizabeth Holmes documentary with a deeply strange first-glimpse trailer of the pair in a tense face-off that has immediately set the internet alight.
The comedian and filmmaker secretly premiered You Can See Everything, his long-rumored documentary about the disgraced Theranos founder, at the Telluride Film Festival on Sunday night, ending years of speculation about the unlikely collaboration.
A teaser released alongside the surprise screening offered the first footage from the project, including an intensely awkward exchange in which Holmes repeatedly insists to an apparently unconvinced Fielder that she is telling him the truth.
“I don’t have anything to deceive you on,” Holmes tells him. “Of course I’m not deceiving you. I’m engaging with you as a human being. Why would I deceive you? There’s no reason for me to do that.”
“OK. All right. OK, good chat,” Fielder replies, before pausing to ask: “You’re being real right now?”
“I’m always being real,” Holmes responds.
The bizarre encounter quickly ricocheted around social media after the trailer dropped, with viewers marveling at the prospect of Fielder, whose comedy frequently revolves around elaborate experiments in deception, performance, and human behavior, sitting opposite one of Silicon Valley’s most infamous convicted fraudsters.

Fielder, best known for comedy show Nathan For You and HBO’s The Rehearsal, directed the film with documentary filmmaker Lance Oppenheim.
Rumors that Fielder had been working with Holmes had circulated for years, including reports that he had visited her in prison. The film’s official synopsis reveals that the project began even earlier, just 34 days before Holmes reported to prison, when she invited a film crew to document her life. What began as a portrait of Holmes subsequently became what the filmmakers describe as a “mind-bending three-year journey into the abyss.”
Holmes is currently serving an 11-year sentence after being convicted in 2022 on four fraud charges stemming from Theranos, the blood-testing startup that once made her one of Silicon Valley’s most celebrated entrepreneurs.
The teaser prompted bewilderment and excitement online:
The reaction from journalists who actually saw the finished film at Telluride over the weekend only added to the frenzy:
The project, produced by A24, is expected to arrive in theaters in October.
