Jon Bon Jovi described it as a "hope and a dream" that he would make his return to Wembley Stadium as his band Bon Jovi delivered a selection of classics at the London venue.
The band's Forever shows represent the American rock star's comeback to touring following his recovery from significant vocal cord surgery in 2022.
He encountered a hurdle in July when he was forced to abandon a performance at Madison Square Garden in New York because of a sinus infection.

However, on Sunday, September 6, he assured fans he will continue performing for many years ahead.
The band delivered a variety of hit tracks including Livin' On A Prayer, Always, It's My Life, You Give Love A Bad Name, Wanted Dead Or Alive and Bed Of Roses.

He told the audience, "It's a beautiful summer night and I can't think of a better place to have church than in Wembley stadium."
He added, "We had a hope and a dream that we would be back in this stadium." The musician, 64, went on, "We played three nights here in 1995 and came back many times and those were some of the favourite times of my life.
"We closed this building (the band played the final shows in the stadium before it closed in 2000 and was demolished and rebuilt) and then they opened this big beautiful new building.

"We came back in 2019 and planted our flag and made it our home again and we hope to come back many, many more times."

The frontman also referenced the surgery he underwent after discovering one of his vocal cords had atrophied, reflecting on his recovery by stating, "God knows it was a long one, but it was worth it."
Bon Jovi is set to close out their Forever Tour with a final performance at Wembley Stadium on September 9.
Back in July, Bon Jovi left fans worried during his NYC performance as he told the audience he was "hurt" before exiting the stage without returning.
A witness said the star addressed the audience and said, "I'm sorry, I'm hurt, and you're not getting the best of me."
He also instructed fans whose evening was unexpectedly shortened to retain their tickets. "Don't throw away your ticket stubs, I'm gonna figure something out, okay? Just hold onto it, we'll figure out how to reschedule," he said, according Page Six.
Despite the performer's sudden exit, Jon Bon Jovi Discussions podcast host Jerry Braden revealed on X that the musician was dealing with a sinus infection.
"Due to a sinus infection, Jon couldn't sing the end of Bed of Roses & let the audience sing. He said the internet trolls can have at it tomorrow, but thanked the supportive fans for having his back," Braden stated.
He continued, "Fans at the show (and online fans) are supporting you. We believe in you."
