Katie Miller, wife of Trump adviser Stephen Miller, posted a Halloween photo on Saturday that quickly drew replies, many aimed at a movie reference in the caption.
The picture, shared by the 34-year-old on October 31, shows two women in Star Wars costumes wearing white bodysuits, cream boots, and matching cream-colored capes. Miller wrote: “Find the Anakin in your life.” In the popular science-fiction film series, Anakin Skywalker is the Jedi Knight who becomes Darth Vader and helps a galactic emperor seize power, as several commenters pointed out.
Miller's social media blunder comes as the White House went all out for Halloween, with Trump upholding a longstanding tradition.

Social media users were quick to troll Miller over her Star Wars comment, with one commenter replying, “Anakin the character that murdered like 500 kids? That tracks.” Her husband is White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, and has faced criticism over his past comments about immigration.

Another asked in the replies, “The Anakin that slaughters an entire village, including children? That Anakin?” as a third chimed in, “not surprised to see you idolize the guy who kills kids.”
Other users linked the character to Trump's administration. “So you’re married to Darth Vader? Murderer of children and destroyer of worlds? Makes sense. Why not say find the Tom Riddle in your life too?” wrote one user, comparing Miller to the villains in both Star Wars and the Harry Potter franchise.
Another piled on, “the character who became 2nd in command to a fascist dictator? I guess that tracks as your preference," referring to Anakin Skywalker's trajectory into becoming the villainous Darth Vader.
One pointed out, “The way that you don’t even realize the poignancy in this comment.”

A woman claiming to be the person Miller was matching with also replied to the post to clarify that they did not coordinate their Star Wars costumes. The woman commented, “Let’s make it clear this was NOT planned,” despite wearing nearly-identical cosstumes inspired by the George Lucas's iconic franchise.
Her Trump staffer husband has been among the administration’s most visible architects of its deportation efforts, and her posts often receive replies expressing opposition to those policies.
Miller's post comes after the White House hosted a Halloween celebration with Donald and Melania Trump greeting and giving candy to children in costume. The event reportedly saw around 6,000 guests, including military and law enforcement families, foster and adoptive families, and administration officials and their children.
