Labrinth (born Timothy McKenzie) is the mastermind behind the series’ genre-bending soundtrack, composing the score for the previous two seasons of Sam Levinson’s teen drama. His song “All For Us” from the HBO series won an Emmy for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics in 2020.

Last year, HBO announced that award-winning composer Hans Zimmer would collaborate with Labrinth for the season three score. “Labrinth’s music has shaped the show’s identity and I’m looking forward to contributing to the ongoing story and helping shape this new season through music,” Zimmer, now 68, said in a statement at the time.

In a separate statement, Labrinth wrote that he was excited for Euphoria’s next chapter, saying, “So great to join Hans, one of my heroes in film score, and bring some new magic to this new season. Love x.”

In an April 2022 interview with PEOPLE, Labrinth shared that working on Euphoria was an inspiring experience.

"Euphoria has been a massive shift for me creatively — in terms of what I want to do as an artist,” he said. “So even from this score to my new album that I'm releasing later on in the year and all of the stuff that I want to do from here on, it has inspired my journey for what I want to do."

Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Dominic Fike, Maude Apatow, Eric Dane, Colman Domingo, Martha Kelly and Chloe Cherry are set to reprise their roles in the upcoming season of the teen drama.

They will be joined by a new ensemble of cast members, including Rosalía, Marshawn Lynch, Kadeem Hardison, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Toby Wallace.

Levinson told Variety that the new season will take place five years after high school. He teased that Rue is "trying to come up with some very innovative ways" to pay off debt, Cassie and Nate are "living in the suburbs" and engaged, Jules is in art school, Maddy is "working in Hollywood at a talent agency for a manager" and Lexi "is an assistant to a showrunner played by Sharon Stone."

Euphoria's third season is set to premiere on April 12.
