Maria Bartiromo abruptly left Fox News this week after a 12-and-a-half-year tenure with the network.

In a brief press release, Fox News stated, "Effective today, Maria Bartiromo is no longer with FOX News Media," and wished her well in her next chapter. Following the sudden announcement, Fox immediately moved to scrub her name from the programming lineup.

Status reported that the alleged reason for the journalist's termination was an incident in July in which Donald Trump touted his debunked conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election during his primetime address.

The outlet was told by sources that Fox News had issued instructions not to give credibility to the 80-year-old president's claims. Bartiromo allegedly leaked that information to the White House and showed the network's text message after being pressed on why they weren't covering Trump's claims.

However, Scott Keever, CEO of Reputation Pro, claimed that Maria could potentially join another right-wing outlet following her Fox News exit.

"There are several courses that Maria Bartiromo can follow. She could, depending on her contract provisions, join a conservative/pro Trump media outlet like Newsmax or One America," he exclusively told the Daily Express US.

"Mainstream outlets would be leery of her due to her violating the company confidentiality clause of her contract," he added.

However, Keever also noted that Bartiromo may be a contender for a role in Trump's administration.

"She could join the Trump Administration and in many ways would be ideal as a replacement for Karoline Levitt or serve in some other capacity," Keever told us. "Or join a PAC associated with Trump."

Yet a sabbatical may also be a wise choice for Bartiromo, with the expert noting, "She could also take a sabbatical and write an insider's account of FOX News. Regardless of which path she opts for, we have not seen the end of her."

Keever's words come as Bartiromo's attorney has spoken out against reports that the journalist was fired from Fox News.

According to Bryan Freedman, the claims are "absolutely and unequivocally false," as he told the media, "For many years, Maria Bartiromo hosted three number-one-rated television shows on Fox channels. She has been, without question, one of the hardest-working journalists throughout her award-winning career."

"The irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox are absolutely and unequivocally false," his statement added.

"Make no mistake. We have the receipts and witnesses, and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise. Those reporting her firing or the incredulous facts supporting that fiction have exhibited a complete and utter reckless disregard for the truth."
