Mariska Hargitay took home two Emmys at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on September 5.
Her husband Peter Hermann was there to lend his support.
Hargitay wore a red strapless gown, while Hermann wore all black.
It was a glamorous date night for Mariska Hargitay and her husband actor Peter Hermann last night. The pair made a rare red carpet appearance at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on September 5, where Hermann supported his wife as she took home two Emmys for her work on the documentary My Mom Jayne.

The couple posed together with Hargitay’s two awards. She wore a glitzy red-hot strapless gown with a belted waist and pleated skirt, along with what appeared to be a two-strand diamond and ruby necklace. Meanwhile, Hermann, who hugged his wife from behind and pointed proudly to her, wore a simple all-black suit.

Hargitay’s documentary was released last summer and explored her late mother, actress Jayne Mansfield, who died in a car crash when Hargitay was a child.
Speaking on stage at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, Hargitay paid tribute to Gloria Steinem, who died a few days earlier. She said, “My hero and friend Gloria Steinem recently said ... ‘Please tell your own story. The most important thing that we can do for each other is to know each other through stories.’ I got to know my mother through telling this story, and it is a gift that is indescribable.”

Hargitay added, “It was such an extraordinary, extraordinary gift to tell this story and to tell it with experts. And I learned so much in the process and I got to know my mother, as I said. And so I just invite you all to tell your stories. And I want to thank my amazing husband, who provided the space for me to do it all, and my children. So thank you all so much. This is for you, Mom. I’m deeply honored to be in this category with all the unbelievable filmmakers so thank you.”
Hargitay and Hermann married in 2004 and now share three children, August, Amaya, and Andrew.

“I feel so blessed in that department,” Hargitay recently toldE! News of her husband. “My new two favorite words are ‘disciplined curiosity.’ Really being curious about the other person and how they experience something and really listening.”
She added, “The way we can joke about things and then afterward if we joke and we go, ‘Too soon?’ It’s sort of everything for us because if you can joke about it then there’s a little bit of perspective, it’s another way in, and to say, ‘I love you. I’m sorry. I’m still here. Can we laugh because no matter what, we’re going to figure this out.’”
