An MS NOW host gave an emotional goodbye message as she left the network after nearly 30 years.
Alex Witt, who worked at MS NOW for 27 years, delivered a tearful send-off on Sunday, September 6, during her final broadcast of Alex Witt Reports.
The beloved 65-year-old anchor was forced to fight back tears following a comprehensive video montage celebrating her long-standing career. The adoring 15-minute tribute shared clips from significant moments in her TV career, such as when she covered the 9/11 terrorist attack, the coronavirus pandemic, the launch of the first iPhone, and royal weddings. This comes as a fellow MS NOW host reflected on Lindsay Clancy's mistrial announcement.

Introducing the video, Witt said, "Let's go now to our last moments together, because there's a great line from the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off: 'Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.'

"So with that in mind, I want to take a moment with all of you to look around at the stories, the people, and a job that has allowed me to report, in many cases, the rough draft of history for 27 years."
"Wow!" Witt reacted, thanking her staff, including the archive team, as she added, "The entire archives team — deep archives! — for their work on this piece."
She also thanked her executive producer, Nick Kovijanic, whom she called her "rudder through all of this," tearfully telling him, "I knew it would be hard to get to this. You're a champion, Nick. You fought for me, this show, our team. I've never stopped learning from you.
"You've inspired my approach to covering the news and the way I interpret the world around me. You've been my rudder through all of this. I promise to keep staring in that direction."
Witt then welcomed her crew onto the set, explaining how it takes a "village" to pull off a show like hers, and praising the team for their "excellence."

Moving on to praising the viewers, the anchor gushed, "And to you, the viewers, it has been such a privilege to earn your trust delivering the news. I'm grateful for your loyalty, keeping me right here in this anchor chair all these years doing this job that I love. Thank you."
Moreover, Witt kept with the emotive theme, signing off the broadcast, "And lastly, I'm a mom, so to my son and daughter, thank you for embracing and understanding the many ways my weekend hours impacted you. I'm forever proud of you two, and love you till the end of time. That's going to do it for me on this edition of Alex Witt Reports. Enjoy your holidays!"
