Nicola Peltz and her husband Brooklyn Beckham made their first-ever red carpet appearance at Venice Film Festival on September 5.

The actress wore a dramatic violet gown with gaping hip cutouts by Balenciaga.

Peltz took home a rising star award ahead of her role in Prima.

Nicola Peltz and her husband Brooklyn Beckham made a glamorous debut at the Venice Film Festival. The actress, who was honored with a rising star award at the festival’s Kinéo Awards on September 5, upped the drama with her bold violet gown on the red carpet.

Styled by Katie Bofshever, the actress wore a deep purple Balenciaga gown with an unusual optical illusion design. The front of the dress appeared to wrap around her chest, before giving way to a thin piece of fabric that covered her stomach. At the back, the backless dress was revealed to be held up by her half-up hairdo. The low-rise skirt wrapped around her hips before falling in a draping full skirt that trailed out behind her.

As for Beckham, who was pictured giving his wife an affectionate kiss on the red carpet, he kept things classic in a black tuxedo, which he paired with light brown shades.

Beckham and Peltz have kept out of the public eye for several month amid some family drama. Earlier this year, Beckham shared a post regarding his relationship with his parents Victoria and David Beckham. “I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,” he wrote. “Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed. I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”

Peltz’s rising star award comes ahead of her starring role in Prima, a film about a ballerina that also stars the iconic Faye Dunaway.

“Thank you so much for this immense honour. To receive an award at the Venice Film Festival is something I will carry with me for the rest of my career,” she said as she accepted the award, per The Sun.

She continued, “My family are my everything. My mum, dad, (brothers) Diesel and Brad and Brooklyn thank you. You always believe in me. To have your support is the reason I can reach to the stars in the first place.”
