Princess Eugenie Shares Never-Before-Seen Family Photos of “Happy Days” With Her “Babies”

Princess Eugenie is giving a behind-the-scenes glimpse into “Happy days” with her “babies.”
Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank are parents to sons August, 5, and Ernest, 3, and daughter Adelaide, who was born on August 3.
Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank is 15th in the British line of succession, and the proud mom posted a photo on August 31 celebrating “4 weeks” with her daughter.
Four weeks after her daughter Adelaide’s birth, Princess Eugenie is giving a behind-the-scenes glimpse at her life with her family, including her mother and her older brothers.
On August 31, Eugenie shared three new photos to her Instagram Stories, all featuring her third child with her husband, Jack Brooksbank. Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank was born on August 3 in Lisbon, Portugal, joining brothers August, 5, and Ernest, 3.

In the first snap, Eugenie—wearing a sleeveless black garment—holds Adelaide, looking down at her with a mother’s look of love. “4 weeks of you!!” she wrote over the photo.
The next photo showed proud big brothers August and Ernest on either side of their little sister, and the third and final image showed the brothers kissing their sister. Over top of the photo, Eugenie wrote, “Happy days with my babies.”

The name Adelaide was partly inspired by Maria Adelaide of Portugal and William IV’s wife, Queen Adelaide, according to Hello!. Adelaide—who is 15th in the British line of succession—made history with her birth, as she is a rare member of the line of succession born outside of the United Kingdom.
The outlet also noted that Adelaide pays a subtle tribute to Prince William and Kate Middleton; before moving into their “forever home,” Forest Lodge, late last year, the Prince and Princess of Wales lived at Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor estate with their three children.

Elizabeth, of course, pays homage to Eugenie’s late grandmother Queen Elizabeth, who died in 2022. Annina is believed to be named after one of Eugenie’s friends, Annina Pfuel.

Eugenie announced her daughter’s birth on August 4, but didn’t announce her name until August 17, two weeks after she was born. “2 weeks ago today we welcomed our girl to the world,” the mother of three wrote on Instagram. “And since then, we’ve had the most special, cozy, and love-filled time.”
“We are so happy to share Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank,” Eugenie continued. “Named after three people we love and admire, past and present, including her great-grandmother, who we hold close in our hearts. Her name is part of English and Portuguese history, two places we love and call home. Augie and Ernie are already the best big brothers.”
The Brooksbank family splits their time between the U.K. and Portugal, and Eugenie told Hello! in 2024 that her sons “love swimming. The sea in Portugal is a little bit rougher. So we’ve got our feet in, but Augie is a fish. He literally loves it, and we have whales and dolphins all across the walls.”
Speaking on the “Table Manners” podcast, Eugenie further explained her love for Portugal, saying, “This is why Portugal is the dream, because I can go to the supermarket in my exercise gear and my hair piled on my head and not mind. Not care. No one cares.”
When Eugenie announced Adelaide’s birth, she wrote, “Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie💓💓💓💓💓.” Adelaide’s name also connects full circle to Eugenie’s October 12, 2018 wedding to Jack, when the bride wore two of Queen Adelaide’s brooches that she borrowed from Queen Elizabeth. In another tie to Queen Adelaide, Eugenie and Jack married at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, where Queen Adelaide is buried.
Baby Adelaide was born weighing 6 lbs. 9 oz., and when she was born, Buckingham Palace shared in an official statement, “Her Royal Highness and her daughter are doing well. Princess Eugenie and Mr. Brooksbank are deeply grateful to the hospital staff for their care.” The palace added that King Charles, Queen Camilla, and “other members of the royal family” had been informed of Adelaide’s birth and were “delighted” by the news.
Eugenie has previously called motherhood the “most special, mind-blowing experience of a person’s life. My children make my world go around.”
