Queen Camilla needs no introduction, as her every action often becomes global news. Recently, the same happened when the Queen stepped out wearing one of her “most mysterious” royal jewels.

Queen Camilla is currently enjoying a vacation in Balmoral with her husband, King Charles. The Queen wore a brooch described as her “most mysterious brooch” when she attended the traditional Braemar Gathering in Scotland alongside her husband.

According to Tatler’s coverage, the royal couple took part in the tradition on September 5, which has continued since the era of Queen Victoria. Queen Camilla and King Charles both appeared in traditional Scottish attire, with King Charles wearing a Scottish kilt, tweed waistcoat, and blazer, while Queen Camilla opted for a dark green coat with a matching hat.

However, the biggest talking point was Camilla’s jacket, which featured a brooch designed like a royal crown. The diamond-covered piece also featured a ruby, a sapphire, and an emerald underneath.

In early 2023, Camilla wore this brooch when she attended a royal engagement at an East London mosque that February. She appeared with the same brooch again just a week later at an event for Her Majesty’s Reading Room. Interestingly, the brooch also made an appearance this year at Sandringham this past February when King Charles and Queen Camilla visited.

The crown has a very distinctive design because it represents the Tudor royal crown. The same crown also appears in the separate royal emblems of the King and Queen, as well as in their combined emblem. This crown is also known as the Crown of Henry VIII.

Talking about the history of the brooch, historians know little about its origins. However, considering the royal insignia featured on it and the significant occasions when the Queen wore it, historians believe she received it as a gift.
