PEOPLE reviewed a transcript of a voice note introduced during the deposition of former The Agency Group employee Katie Case in the legal dispute involving Rebel Wilson and The Deb
In the recording, digital strategist Jed Wallace allegedly instructs crisis publicist Melissa Nathan on creating damaging online content targeting producer Amanda Ghost
Wallace’s team denies participating in any smear campaign, calling the audio’s release “out-of-context speculation,” as the filings surface in a broader defamation lawsuit tied to Wilson and Ghost and echo similar allegations raised in Blake Lively’s separate litigation
Rebel Wilson's crisis PR team allegedly discussed plans to create anonymous websites falsely accusing The Deb producer Amanda Ghost of "procuring young women for the pleasure of the extremely wealthy" as part of an alleged smear campaign, Ghost's attorney claims during a deposition.
New court filings reference voice notes and text messages in which crisis PR professionals discussed damaging allegations during a legal dispute involving Wilson, 44.
Some of the same publicists referenced in the filings have also been named in separate litigation involving actress Blake Lively. The actress sued Justin Baldoni digital strategist Jed Wallace, crisis publicist Melissa Nathan and attorney Bryan Freedman in the Southern District of New York, alleging a smear campaign tied to the production of It Ends With Us.
The materials were included in a declaration filed in Los Angeles Superior Court by attorneys for film producer Ghost as part of ongoing litigation tied to the film The Deb.
The Hollywood Reporter first reported on the leaked audio and related filings.
PEOPLE reviewed a transcript of the audio that was introduced as evidence during the deposition of former The Agency Group (TAG) employee Katie Case, whose testimony is included in the filing.
During the deposition, Ghost's attorney said that Wallace sent a voice note instructing Nathan, founder of The Agency Group, on how to create damaging online content targeting Ghost.
The attorney read a transcript of the recording which Wallace suggests a strategy that would falsely portray Ghost as a criminal figure involved in arranging escorts for powerful figures.
“So basically what we need to do is, we need to create a path where we expose Amanda Ghost,” Wallace says in the recording, according to the transcript.
“Amanda Ghost is like the new Heidi Fleiss. Like, she masquerades as — the reason why she sucks so bad at music is because she's actually getting hookers for Blavatnik, right, and that's what she does.”
Billionaire Len Blavatnik is the British-American investor and founder of Access Industries who owns Ghost’s production company AI Film. He declined to comment to The Hollywood Reporter.

Wallace continues in the audio, “She's an absolute madam and that's why she's so lethal, blah, blah, blah.”
“We can't just do like, oh, she's a bitch, she sucks,” Wallace said. “It's, like, it's got to be really, really heavy and connected to something that heavy. So we'll talk about that tomorrow too.”
Ghost’s lawsuit previously called the websites’ allegations “unmistakably defamatory.”
In a statement to PEOPLE, Wallace’s team stated: “The judge in the It Ends With Us case sealed the audio file to prevent exactly this sort of out of context speculation and, accordingly, Mr. Wallace can not comment directly about it. We note that he has been dismissed from this case and denies that he participated in a so-called smear campaign against Blake Lively or anyone else,”
The filing asks the court to allow additional discovery as the legal battle continues.
The dispute stems from conflicts surrounding The Deb, Wilson’s directorial debut. The Australian musical premiered at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival but later became entangled in lawsuits between Rebel Wilson and several producers, including Amanda Ghost, over allegations of defamation and misconduct tied to the production.
Amid the ongoing legal battles, the film’s release has reportedly been delayed to April 2026, according to IMDb.
Amanda Ghost’s attorney Camille Vasquez, claimed in a statement to PEOPLE the new evidence contradicts Wilson’s past denials.
“Rebel Wilson has repeatedly denied any involvement in the creation of the smear websites — not just on television but in her sworn legal testimony,” Vasquez said. “We, however, had long suspected that she not only contributed to the malicious sites but that she was the driving force behind them. The evidence we have submitted to the court in California today supports that conclusion. This may not have been the writing credit she was seeking, but it is the one she deserves.”
Attorneys for Wilson and other parties involved did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The case is currently scheduled to go to trial in October 2026.
