Clayton Kershaw received the greatest gift of all this Christmas.
The former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher, 37, and his wife, Ellen Kershaw, announced the arrival of their fifth child, a daughter, on Instagram. “Meet Chloe Peach Kershaw, who joined our crew and arrived on December 19th!” Clayton captioned a series of photos of him at his wife’s bedside with their kids posted on Christmas Eve.
He added, “She’s perfect and her brothers and sister are obsessed with her. We are grateful for the gift of her life!”

Among those celebrating the family's news in the comments was minority owner of the Dodgers and tennis legend Billie Jean King. "Congratulations from both of us," she wrote on Wednesday.
The three-time World Series champion revealed in a June interview with ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball that he and Ellen were expecting their fifth child. The announcement coincided with a gender reveal and a Father’s Day celebration.
Clayton and Ellen, who both grew up in Highland Park, Texas, met in elementary school and began dating as teenagers. Ellen and Clayton married in 2010 and went on to have four children before welcoming Chloe. Their first, Cali Ann Kershaw, was born in 2015, followed by Charley Clayton Kershaw in 2016. Ellen then gave birth to Cooper Ellis Kershaw and Chance James Kershaw in 2020 and 2021, respectively.
Speaking about her husband and their children at the 2023 opening of a baseball field in Inglewood, Calif. — a project the couple helped with through Clayton’s charity, Kershaw’s Challenge — Ellen said, "Clayton grew up with a baseball in his hand ready to play a game in a sandlot or on a ballfield just like this one on a moment's notice."

She added, "Now he's getting to relive that falling-in-love with the game feeling through the eyes of his kids and through the eyes of kids like y'all," addressing the audience.
Before winning the 2025 World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays, Clayton announced his retirement after 18 seasons with the Dodgers. “Yeah, I’m going to call it. I’m going to retire,” he said at a September press conference, with Ellen appearing emotional in the audience, holding one of their children.
Clayton added, “Ellen and I have talked about it a lot. Kiddos talked about it a lot. I’m at peace with it. I think it’s the right time.”
