Royal Expert Calls Prince Harry ‘Dangerous’ as His U.K. Return Raises New Concerns

A royal expert has labeled Prince Harry “dangerous” to the family because of his previous mindset. With the Duke of Sussex and his family’s return to the U.K., the controversial remarks from his old Oprah Winfrey interview are resurfacing. In the interview, both Harry and Meghan Markle revealed why they moved to California.
The lack of apology and accountability has the royal expert worried about whether Harry still thinks the same way. As a result, the strained relationship with the family may never recover despite his hopes.
Expert’s Opinion on Prince Harry’s Stance on the Royal Family
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told the Daily Express, “If he still feels as aggrieved as it is now reported, he is dangerous to the Royal Family as tens of millions saw Oprah and Spare had huge sales and the Sussexes are now, suddenly, in a situation.” If Harry continues to hold his 2021 mindset, then his return to the U.K. may not bring the family together.
Fitzwilliams further explained, “He said on the BBC last year that he wanted reconciliation. For him, reconciliation requires accountability, but the Royal Family will never publicly apologise.” According to the expert, the royal family won’t issue a public apology. An apology would mean they are acknowledging the couple’s claims.
Harry and Meghan made shocking revelations during the interview and explained why they stepped back from royal duties. The interview aired on CBS on March 7, 2021. Winfrey’s question to Markle became one of the most talked-about excerpts from the interview. She asked her, “Were you silent, or were you silenced?” To this, she replied, “The latter.” She further added, “I did anything they told me to do.”
Markle claimed the family treated her unfairly and even made racist remarks about her unborn child at that time. Needless to say, the three-hour-long interview did not make the royals happy, and the aftereffects of it may still follow the Sussexes.
Sussexes Return to the U.K. Hints at a Royal Reunion
In a 2025 BBC interview, Harry said, “Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book. Of course they will never forgive me for lots of things. But you know, there is, I would love reconciliation with my family.”

He acknowledged the toll his book and their interview may have taken on his family but still expressed hope that they may reconcile in the future. Earlier, he had also said he did not see them returning to the U.K.
People reported the Sussexes flew from California to Birmingham on August 26. While they may not give up their Montecito and Portugal homes, they are expected to stay in the U.K. for an extended period of time.
Soon their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will enroll in local schools in the fall. Now the move back does not imply they will take over their royal duties, but it may signify a possible return in the future.
King Charles was notified about Harry and Meghan’s return in mid-August. They may have a private meeting soon before they commence their October fall tour to the Bahamas for the Commonwealth meeting.
