Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have fought a legal battle since 2024

"We were trying to find a piece of famous, iconic art to put on and make it look like it was in a frame,” Lively told *Vogue* at the event. “And then I said, ‘Would you, actually, if you're gonna make it custom, would you do my kids?’”

She continued, “My kids each painted a watercolor painting. Each of my four kids did this, so I have them with me, because I'm shy too, so I just like to have the kids with me. Isn't that special?”

The* It Ends With Us *legal drama started December 2024, when Lively filed a complaint against her director and costar accusing him of sexual harassment and coordinating a smear campaign against her. Lively sought legal action after wrapping the *It Ends With Us* press tour, during which rumors swirled of behind-the-scenes drama and an alleged feud between the pair. Last month, a Southern District of New York judge threw out 10 of the 13 claims in Lively's lawsuit against Baldoni.

Baldoni responded to Lively’s claims by filing a countersuit against her and Reynolds in January 2025, demanding $400 million in damages and alleging defamation, civil extortion, breach of contract, and other offenses. His lawsuit was dismissed by a judge that June.

Two weeks before Lively’s case was set to go to trial, legal teams for both parties announced on May 4 that they had reached a settlement.

"The end product — the movie *It Ends With Us* — is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life,” the parties said in a joint statement released on behalf of their legal teams. “Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors – and all survivors — is a goal that we stand behind.”

The statement continued, "We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserved to be heard. We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments. It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online."

However, their dispute is not over just yet: Lively is still seeking damages, attorneys’ fees, and other financial penalties from Baldoni and Wayfarer under a California law that protects individuals who sue for sexual harassment from being hit with retaliatory lawsuits from the accused party.
