The Man came to his fiery end Saturday night at the weeklong art, music and cultural gathering in the Nevada desert.

Burning Man marked its 40th burn this year. It started in 1986 on Baker Beach in San Francisco before moving to its current location in the Black Rock Desert in 1990.

On Sunday, in a more somber tradition, the Temple will be burned, and Monday the annual gathering officially ends.
