Serena Williams is celebrating herself, and encourages everyone to do the same.

On Friday, March 13, the 23-time Grand Slam singles winner posted an Instagram carousel, sharing snaps of herself enjoying the sunshine.

The 44-year-old was photographed in an olive green one-piece swimsuit while standing in a backyard. Her look was completed with two unlikely accessories: a pair of UGG slippers and a fuzzy pink cardigan.

She captioned the post: “I am not perfect….but I’m perfectly me. Take out time today to celebrate being perfectly you! 💋.”

Williams received a slew of supportive comments, one person wrote, “Great post Serena, hope your feeling good 🫵🏼💪🏼🫶🏼👑.”

Another added, “We love you Serena! Champion! Legacy! Bold! Trendsetter! Mother! 🔥🔥🔥🔥”

Williams' latest swimsuit photos come weeks after she spoke exclusively with PEOPLE about her recent weight loss. In late January, the tennis champion shared how the GLP-1 medication Ro has made several positive changes in her life.

Williams says she has lost 34 lbs. since starting the weight-loss medication, and it has helped her lower her cholesterol by 30%. Her lifetime risk of heart disease subsequently fell by a relative 70%. “I feel healthier. I feel lighter. I feel great. It's a really good feeling,” she told PEOPLE.

She expressed how the medication has allowed her to “live her best life” and be around for her daughters Alexis Olympia, 8, and Adira River, 2, whom she shares with husband Alexis Ohanian.

She told PEOPLE in August 2025 that since starting the medication, she’s been able to “do more.”

“I'm more active. My joints don't hurt as much. I just feel like something as simple as just getting down is a lot easier for me. And I do it a lot faster,” she explained. “I feel like I have a lot of energy and it's great. I just feel pretty good about it.”

“GLP-1 helped me enhance everything that I was already doing — eating healthy and working out, whether it was as a professional athlete at the top level of tennis or just going to the gym every day,” she said. “So I think that it’s important for everyone to hear my story. And I feel like there's a lot of people that can relate.”

When Williams spoke to PEOPLE in January, she shared how her transparency has helped others feel less ashamed about doing what’s best for their health, especially given the controversy surrounding GLP-1 medications.

“I just wanted to naturally share my story and tell everyone that it's not a shortcut. It had such a stigma and I wanted to be a part of breaking that down,” she said.

“I was at the fair the other day and this random guy came up to me and was like, ‘I started GLP-1s because of you.’ And so I love the impact it's making, not only with women but with men as well,” she shared.
