Help decide which performance was the best in Delaware high school sports during Week 7 of the spring sports season. Vote for the Delaware Online High School Sports Athlete of the Week, presented by Delaware Orthopaedic Specialists.
Nominations for Athlete of the Week and Team of the Week can be sent to high school sports reporter Brandon Holveck at bholveck@delawareonline.com. Please send the name of the team or athlete you would like to nominate and a brief summary of their accomplishments in the past week.
Polls are open to the public with unlimited voting from Monday through Thursday. Winners are announced Friday. Here are this week's nominees:
Elizabeth Layton, Sussex Academy girls lacrosse: Layton scored a combined eight goals and had three assists in victories over Smyrna and Newark Charter.
Samantha Weinert, Ursuline track and field: Weinert won the girls 100 and 200 at the New Castle County track and field championships.

Jordan Welch, Sussex Tech track and field: Welch won the triple jump, long jump and high jump at the Henlopen Conference track and field championships. Welch's 50-3 triple jump ranks second on the state all-time performance list.
Grady Wheeler, Archmere baseball: In two starts, Wheeler pitched 12 ⅔ innings and allowed no runs while striking out 10. The Auks defeated Saint Mark's 5-1 and Wilmington Friends 9-2.
Benjamin Williams, Conrad boys lacrosse: Williams scored seven goals, including the go-ahead goal with 45 seconds left, in a 9-8 win over Hodgson. He also had three goals in a 7-5 win over Concord.
