"The Voice" Season 28 crowned a winner Tuesday night, marking the third consecutive victory for coach Niall Horan.
Aiden Ross, a 20-year-old college student from College Station, Texas, emerged triumphant Dec. 16, defeating fellow Team Niall member DEK of Hearts. Ross also bested Aubrey Nicole, coached by Reba McEntire, Max Chambers and Jazz McKenzie, both coached by Michael BublƩ, and Ralph Edwards, coached by Snoop Dogg.
Ross' championship marks Horan's third consecutive win on the NBC singing competition, a first for the show. The former One Direction member became a coach during Season 23 in 2023, returning the following year, then taking a brief hiatus and settling back into the program's iconic red chair this year for Season 28.

Ross' win caps a whirlwind season, which kicked off with his standout blind audition to Adeleās "Love in the Dark," earning him an immediate four-chair turn. The fresh-faced college student from the Lone Star State quickly became one of the show's most popular artists, captivating the coaches and audiences alike with performances of "What a Time" and "When the Party's Over."
Prior to his win, Ross, a member of his university's a capella group, delivered three crowd-stomping performances. He sang both JVKEās "Golden Hour" and ABBA's "The Winner Takes It All," before teaming up with Season 23 winner Gina Miles for a duet to Wham's "Last Christmas."
Horan's mentees taking home the trophy marks a full-circle moment for the star, who got his own start on a reality singing competition. Horan competed on "X Factor" in the U.K. before being paired up with the remaining members of One Direction by then-judge Simon Cowell.
