Will Arnett has a message for everyone out there who thinks they know a thing or two about his relationship with his ex, Amy Poehler: You don't.
"People think that they know," Arnett declared in a Tuesday interview with *Rolling Stone*. "Over the years, I've read so many opinions people have. It's f---ing hilarious to me how much s--- is just made up, and they have zero idea."
Arnett and Poehler shared a life for over a decade, raising two sons and appearing in numerous films and TV shows together. They remain close friends and coparents, which Arnett says makes the rumors of discord or conflict all the funnier. "It's like, 'Oh, you think you know what my life is?'"**

"Look, yes, it's part of celebrity culture that we all participate in," he conceded, admitting that since his ascendancy to the spotlight as George Oscar "Gob" Bluth II in *Arrested Development*, celebrity "has been good to me. So I don't want to s--- on it."
Arnett and Poehler have also refused to badmouth each other as partners and parents since their 2012 split. The couple first got together in 2000, years after they first met while Poehler was still performing with the improv troupe Upright Citizens Brigade, which she co-founded in Chicago in 1990. They married in 2003 and raised two sons together: Archie, 17, and Abel, 15.**

"Of course, things take a minute because everybody is sort of adjusting to what it is. I'm also very proud of, certainly as parents, what we've been able to do. That has been really important to both of us. I'm really, really lucky to have her as a partner in this way."
Poehler concurred, sharing, "I remember reading somewhere that when your kid tells you something, you just repeat it back to them like you're doing a headline of a news story... they say, 'Oh, I had a bad day in math.' And then you go, 'You had a bad day in math.' That's all you say."
Poehler and Arnett shared the screen many times during their relationship, as in the film *Blades of Glory*, and on the series *Arrested Development *(Arnett's series, on which Poehler guested) and *Parks and Rec *(Poehler's series, on which Arnett guested). They continued to costar after their breakup, appearing together on the televised Canadian COVID benefit *Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble *in 2020.
Since that time, Poehler has begun dating former *New York Times* editor Joel Lovell, while Arnett has been in a relationship with businesswoman Alessandra Brawn, with whom he shares a child.
